Material 

The Loom and Leaf Mattress overall has a really good construction to it and due to the materials selected and used, it also comes with a premium look at a cheaper price than what most luxurious mattresses would cost. The materials used are all claimed to be high in quality as well as durable.

Firstly, the cover of the bed is made with 100% organic cotton with gold quilted stitching and there is a fresh cotton smell to it if you smell it up close. Next, the top of the mattress has a 4lb 2 inch layer of gel memory foam that is designed in an inverted foam tip(2) (shaped like an upside down egg tray). First, the L&L Relaxed firm mattress is the one most users opt for. It is at a comfort level that is relaxed and more on a medium side in firmness level. This level is not too hard or too soft and is just right for most people. On a firm scale this mattress would be on 6-7.

Next the L&L Firm mattress is a good option for users more on the heavier side that prefers sleeping on stomach and backs. This mattress is perfect if you prefer firmer mattresses. On a firm scale this mattress would be at an 8.

Temperature

The bed has great temperature regulation making it perfect for those who tend to sleep hot at night. The top layer memory foam is a gel memory foam that has gel swirls throughout the entire foam.

Not only that, but the Loom and Leaf has a unique design where the middle section of the mattress has a laminated thin sheet layer of full gel and a special gel material which is usually only found in burn units of hospitals.

The center part is where the hip area would be located and it is the area that produces the most amount of heat. Hence with this innovative design, this particular part of the mattress is always cool and maintains cool throughout the night as well.

The only minor concern for this is that this gel flat layer doesn’t have good air flow in it since it is a laminated sheet however, the layer above it does have the gel layer that has gel swirls that is able to pull eat away does have good air circulation and breathability so it helps balance it out.

This mattress makes a good temperature regulating mattress that will prevent any heat buildup that most typical memory foam mattresses have and will also reduce any risk of causing you to sweat due to the heat from mattresses.

Sleeping Position & Pressure Points

The sleeping position and pressure relieve on the Loom & Leaf is quite supportive. As said earlier, there are 2 different options that you can choose from in which level of firmness you would prefer the Relaxed Firm and the Firm.

For the Relaxed Firm Mattress, it might be a little too soft for stomach sleepers as it might sink in too much and may cause pain if your body sinks in too much.

When your hip area sinks in too much, there will be an arch shape created making it quite uncomfortable for the body and it does not provide the proper support to the spine but cause pains and aches instead. Hence if you are a stomach sleeper, it would be better to opt for the Firm Mattress instead of the Relaxed.

However, the relaxed firm mattress is an excellent choice for side sleepers as it provides great support to the user even for heavier side sleepers as the mattress is able to relieve all pressure points of the sleeper.

This is because this memory foam mattress has quite a good responsive support which may help relieve any joint pain you might be facing.

If you are a back sleeper, the relaxed version of the mattress provides good support to your body but there might be a bit of a concern for those on the heavier scale.

Since it is a larger weight, there might be more sinkage when lying down on the back causing the hip portion of your body to sink in a little too much again creating an uncomfortable position that the stomach sleeper faces. The edge support on the Loom & Leaf is not the best but also not the worst. It has an average rating of edge support. If you are on the heavier side you might feel less supported but if you are on the lighter side then the support for you would be good enough.

Size

The mattress comes in 6 sizes all being 12 inches in height. They have the Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and Cal King. All mattresses are charged at different prices according to their sizes as well.

Bounce, Comfort & Sinkage

This mattress does not have much bounce to it. Through a couple of tests, for example when you drop your body on it there is no bounce at all which is quite expected out of a memory foam mattress.

Next is the response of the mattress. The response of the mattress is a little slow but not extremely slow and it has a fair amount of ease in mobility for a 4 inch memory foam. If you put some pressure on the mattress, it pops back up quite quickly as well.

If you are a combination sleeper and change positions during the night the mattress will not make it so difficult. However, it also depends on your weight.

If you are on the lighter side and change positions a lot, there might be no issue but if you are on the heavier side and it is necessary for you to change positions a lot then it might make you a bit restless since more energy would be needed out of you to switch position.

The reason behind this is that with a heavier weight on the mattress, your body would tend to sink in a little more than a lighter weight. Hence if you are sinked in more it would be harder to change to a different position.

Another thing to take note about the sinkage of this mattress is deeper than the average sinkage. The feel of the sinkage is also different due to the quilting of the mattress.

The mattress is quilted in a way that makes you feel that the sinking depth is less than what it actually is. Meaning that you might feel you are not sinking in the bed about 2 inch but you are actually sinking in at 4 inches (the figures are just for example and not literal).

Warranty

The Loom & Leaf mattress comes with a 15 year warranty and it is quite a good warranty package. There are a few details to the warranty that you should take note of.

The first two years from your delivery date, if the Loom & Loaf mattress is defective at any time, you will be able to replace the mattress with a brand new one with no extra or added cost.

However, pass the 2 year period the company will repair and recover your mattresses but you will need to pay for the transportation costs of $99 per way and there is no other added charges beyond this.

If this above warranty policy is not to your liking, they do have another option called the “Fairness Replacement Option” if you feel your bed is defective. With this option, you will be able to keep your original mattress. How this option works is that instead of sending your mattress for repair they will deliver a new mattress to your house with some other conditions which is explained below.

For the 3 to 5 years, they will install the brand new mattress for only 30% of the price you paid for the original mattress and from 6 to 10 years they will replace the mattress at 50% of the original price and from 11 to 15 years they will replace the mattress at 75% of the original price.

The only thing you will pay for is the 30%, 50% or 75% only there will be no added charges or delivery charges. Why you would prefer this option is that you will get to keep the original mattress allowing you to do anything to it or even use it in another room in your house.

Take note that the warranty is only valid if you are using a platform bed and also an adjustable base. Using a metal frame that does not have a 5 or 6 leg support on a Queen or King size will make the warranty nullified.

The support must also contain a vertical center support. For a Full or Twin size bed, the warranty will remain valid if you are using a 4 legged metal frame and it is only valid to the original purchaser of the mattress, so if you bought the mattress from someone else, the warranty does not apply to you.

 The warranty also doesn’t cover the mattress if it is burned or abused or damaged.
